BRAC, which was established after the Bangladesh War of Liberation, decided to assist post war Afghanistan in its rehabilitation and development efforts with a view, 'A just enlightened, health and democratic Afghanistan free from hanger, Poverty, environmental degradation and all form of exploitation based on age, sex, religion and ethnicity'. BRAC Afghanistan started functioning from June 2002 after its registration in Kabul on May 02, 2002.
